About
John Robles is a Brooklyn-based comedian, actor, and also gay, which is very rare and unheard of.
Since 2013 he has studied and performed Improv across New York (Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre, Brookyln Comedy Collective), Chicago (iO Theatre), and Sydney (Improv Theatre Sydney). He has worked as a teacher and coach for students and improv teams at ITS, as well as running the theatre's Open Jams on Saturday mornings.
In 2018 John was a RAW Stand-up Comedy Semi-Finalist and in the following years toured his critically acclaimed solo shows ‘Gay and Stupid’ (2019) and 'Gay as in Happy (and Homosexual)' (2022) to the Perth and Adelaide Fringe Festivals and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
John can be found performing at various shows across NYC or with his cult-favorite improv teams Snake Pit (with Maddie Houlbrook-Walk), No Panties, and Slay's Anatomy (improvised Grey's Anatomy). He is the proud host of The Laughing Fish - a semi-regular showcase of NYC's finest in stand-up, storytelling, clown, and drag.
